Darin is a California native and grew up in Mission Viejo. At a young age, Darin loved food and had spent virtually every weekend of his youth visiting his Grandparents. The time in Nana’s kitchen, observing, tasting and learning, proved to be more inspirational than he realized. In an effort to further his education after high school, Darin decided to attend culinary school and graduated in 2001 from the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena.
Darin moved to Sacramento after school and was introduced to Senior dining from a chef friend. Over the course of the next twelve years, Darin worked his way up (and around back to OC), at several retirement communities, from Sous Chef to Executive Chef to Director of Dining Services.
During his career, Darin has prepared and served countless meals and catered a variety of events for a largely mature clientele. It was in this experience, that Darin developed his passion for cooking wholesome, healthy and nutritious meals for seniors.
