Chefs For Seniors began in 2013 when executive chef and restaurant owner Barrett Allman recognized an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of older adults.
After years in the restaurant industry, Barrett wanted to create a business that combined his passion for cooking with a more flexible lifestyle. He also noticed that many seniors struggled to prepare nutritious meals for themselves.
His solution was simple: bring professional chefs directly into clients’ homes to prepare fresh, customized meals for the week.
Barrett’s son, Nathan, joined the business shortly after its founding. Together, they developed Chefs For Seniors into a nationwide franchise network dedicated to helping older adults eat better and remain independent.
As the business grew, the Allmans recognized that busy families faced many of the same challenges: limited time, demanding schedules, and the desire for healthy, home-cooked meals.
That insight led to the creation of Chefs For Families in 2026, a complementary personal chef service designed for families, professionals, and active households.
Today, our franchise owners have the opportunity to serve both markets through one business, supported by the same family-owned company and commitment to exceptional service.
