David and Vanessa’s journey together started when they met working at a Black Angus restaurant, where David was a chef and Vanessa was a server. After serving in the Navy, David’s dream was to open his own restaurant. Given their love for food and passion for the senior community, when they found Chefs For Seniors, David and Vanessa knew this was what they were meant to do.
David’s love for cooking started at a very young age as he cooked delicious meals for his family. It grew further as he cooked for seniors in nursing homes and in a restaurant in Hawaii. Later in life, David returned to the senior living industry as a general manager, which brought him and Vanessa to Louisville, KY. He then worked as a sous chef for one of the largest hospitals in Kentucky and managed the largest kitchen in his cooking career – serving over 1000 plates per meal!
Vanessa enjoyed dancing, acting, and singing at a young age and loved to entertain seniors at nursing homes. After Vanessa married David, she worked for the Disneyland Resorts, then later went into the senior living industry with David as a general manager. Vanessa also has a love for horses and enjoys going to the race track to watch them run.
In their free time, David & Vanessa enjoy collecting and showing old cars and tractors, and have a lot of fun meeting new friends at these events. They also like to use their cooking skills to help put on dinners and pot lucks at the church they attend. They are very excited to bring together their skills and passion for getting to know people and making delicious meals as the owners of Chefs For Seniors Louisville.
