David and Vanessa’s journey began when they met while working at a Black Angus restaurant—David as a chef and Vanessa as a server. After David served in the Navy, he dreamed of opening his own restaurant. With a shared love for food and a deep passion for the senior community, they discovered Chefs For Seniors and knew it was their calling.
David’s love for cooking began at a young age when he prepared meals for his family. His passion grew as he cooked for seniors in nursing homes and worked in a restaurant in Hawaii. Later in life, David returned to the senior living industry as a general manager, which led him and Vanessa to Louisville, KY. He then became a sous chef at one of Kentucky’s largest hospitals, managing a kitchen that served over 1,000 meals per shift.
Vanessa, with her background in dancing, acting, and singing, loved entertaining seniors at nursing homes. After marrying David, she worked at Disneyland Resorts before joining him in the senior living industry as a general manager. Vanessa also has a love for horses and enjoys watching races at the track.
In their free time, David and Vanessa collect and show classic cars and tractors, often making new friends at these events. They also enjoy using their cooking skills to host dinners and potlucks at their church. They are excited to combine their passions for food and connecting with others as the owners of Chefs For Seniors Louisville.
